SEO Software Pricing: What Each Tool Costs in 2026

SEO software pricing in 2026 runs from free to about $29 to $49 a month for the cheapest paid plans, $99 to $449 a month for popular suites such as Semrush, Ahrefs and Moz Pro, and from about $1,500 a month for enterprise platforms, several of which only quote on request. We read every price below on the vendor's own pricing page on October 31, 2026. The tools have one thing in common: they sell access to data, and you still do the work. The basics

What is an SEO tool, and what are you paying for?

An SEO tool is software that measures how a site performs in search and points at what to improve: which searches people type, where your pages rank, which sites link to you and what is broken on your pages. Many tools now also track how AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews mention a brand.

SEO software pricing follows what the tool lets you see: how many sites, how many tracked keywords, how many reports a day and how many users. You pay for access to data and features. The work the data points to, writing pages, fixing the site and earning links, stays with you or your team.

The products people compare as SEO software fall into five groups, and their prices sit far apart:

  • All-in-one suites (Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz Pro, Ubersuggest): keyword research, rank tracking, backlink data and site audits in one account.
  • AI SEO software (Surfer and newer tools): help drafting and optimizing content, and tracking how AI answers mention you.
  • WordPress plugins (AIOSEO, Yoast SEO): titles, sitemaps and markup inside your own site, paid per year.
  • Enterprise platforms (seoClarity, Conductor, BrightEdge): for large teams with many domains, usually priced by quote.
  • Services (WebFX, Hike SEO, SeoVision): someone or something does the work, so the price includes work, not only access.

Low cost SEO tools

The cheapest SEO tool: free tools to start with

If you want the cheapest SEO tool that does the job, start with what is free. Several vendors give away a useful part of their product:

  • Google Search Console: free from Google. It shows the searches your site already appears for, your clicks and positions, and indexing problems. Every other tool is more useful once it is set up.
  • Semrush Free: $0 a month with one demo project and 10 reports a day, no card needed.
  • Ahrefs Free: Ahrefs data on your own site and the problems worth fixing.
  • Moz: a free Moz Community account gives limited access to MozBar, Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer.
  • Yoast SEO and AIOSEO Lite: free WordPress plugins for titles, descriptions and sitemaps.
  • Wix: the built-in SEO features come with every Wix plan, the free one included, according to Wix.
  • Our free checkers: an SEO score, domain authority, AI citations and AI crawler access, with no signup, on our free SEO tools page.

Cheapest paid plans

Low cost SEO tools when free is not enough

The cheapest paid SEO tools start at about $29 a month: Ahrefs Starter at $29 for keyword and competitor lookups, Ubersuggest from US$29, Moz's entry plan at $49 for one person with one site, and Surfer's Discovery plan at $49 a month billed yearly. On WordPress, AIOSEO Basic costs $49.50 for the first year and Yoast SEO Premium $118.80 a year.

Cheap depends on what you need. A $29 plan with a daily report limit is a good deal for checking a few keywords each week, and a poor one if you need to track two hundred keywords across three sites. Before you buy, write down the number of sites, tracked keywords and users you need, then compare the plans on those three numbers rather than on the headline price.

Read on semrush.com, ahrefs.com and moz.com on October 31, 2026. Ahrefs states a saving of up to 17% for paying annually without a yearly figure per plan.

Semrush and Ahrefs

Semrush and Ahrefs pricing: the two big suites

Semrush sells its SEO toolkit from $139 a month, or $117.33 a month billed annually, for 5 websites and 500 tracked keywords. The Starter plan at $199 adds AI search tracking, Pro+ at $299 adds historical data, content optimization and more sites, and the Advanced plan for agencies is priced on request. Extra users start at $45 a month each. Semrush is strong when you want keyword, competitor and AI visibility data in one account.

Ahrefs has a $29 Starter plan for keyword and competitor research, then Lite at $129, Standard at $249 and Advanced at $449 a month, each with one user included and more users at $40 to $80 a month depending on the plan. Enterprise is $1,499 a month with a yearly commitment. Ahrefs describes its crawler as the second most active on the web, backed by more than 10 years of data, and that crawl is where its backlink and keyword numbers come from.

Moz

Moz pricing: Moz Pro plans and what they include

Moz Pro has three main plans: Standard at $99 a month, Medium at $179 and Large at $299, or $79, $143 and $239 a month when you pay for the year, which Moz prices 20% lower. For one person managing a single website there is an entry plan at $49 a month, and Enterprise is on request. Moz offers a free trial, and its pricing page says you can cancel or change plans at any time.

Watch the extras. An extra user seat is $49 a month on any plan, 200 more tracked keywords cost $20 a month and an extra campaign $10. Moz Local, for business listings, is a separate product with its own price.

Moz is also the company behind Domain Authority, a score from 1 to 100 that predicts how likely a site is to rank compared with competitors. Moz itself says Domain Authority is not a direct ranking factor. It is a way to compare sites, which is how most people use it.

Ubersuggest

Ubersuggest pricing: what Neil Patel's SEO tool costs

Ubersuggest is the SEO tool sold under Neil Patel's name. Its pricing page gives US$29 to US$99 for its plans, across three priced plans: Individual with 1 project for one website, Business with 7 projects and Enterprise with 15, plus a custom plan on request. The plan prices we saw from outside the US were lower, and the page also sells a one-time lifetime payment instead of a monthly subscription. There is a free trial, and you can drop to a free account at any time.

The plans differ in reports a day (150, 300 or 900), tracked keywords per project (125, 150 or 300) and AI prompts tracked per brand. Add-ons such as more daily searches, projects, keywords or users cost $5 a month each. Ubersuggest fits an owner who does SEO on their own site and wants keyword ideas and a site audit without paying for a large suite.

SEOmonitor

SEOmonitor pricing: rank and AI search tracking by keyword

SEOmonitor prices by the number of keywords you track. Starter is from $88 a month for one website, from 500 up to 3,000 keywords. Pro is from $334 a month for agencies, freelancers and SEO teams, with unlimited websites sharing a pool that starts at 3,000 keywords, and more keywords sold per thousand. Paying yearly takes 17% off. Every plan includes unlimited users and exports, and the free trial runs 14 days without a credit card.

SEOmonitor's page shows euros first (€79 and €299 a month), and its currency switch gives the US dollar prices above. It suits agencies that report on many client sites, because users are unlimited and keywords are shared across websites.

AIOSEO

AIOSEO pricing: All in One SEO plans for WordPress

All in One SEO (AIOSEO) is a WordPress plugin, so you pay a yearly license rather than a monthly data subscription. Its plans differ mainly in how many sites they cover: Basic for 1 site at $49.50 for the first year, Plus for 3 sites at $99.50, Pro for 10 sites at $199.50 and Elite for 100 sites at $299.50. Those are introductory prices. The page says all renewals are at full price, listed as $99, $199, $399 and $599 a year. Every plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee, and there is a free Lite version.

Is All in One SEO good? For what a plugin does, titles, descriptions, schema markup, sitemaps, redirects and content checks inside WordPress, it is a capable choice, and AIOSEO says more than 3 million professionals use it. Its plans also include AI credits to draft posts, FAQs and meta descriptions. Which is better, AIOSEO or Yoast, comes down to features and site count: Yoast SEO Premium is $118.80 a year for one site, and AIOSEO Basic is cheaper in its first year. Both have free versions worth trying first.

A plugin still leaves you to pick topics, finish and publish the posts and earn links. If your site runs on WordPress, our WordPress SEO services do that work through our own plugin, next to yours. With All in One SEO active, only our site-wide fixes apply, and your titles stay with AIOSEO.

Enterprise platforms

seoClarity, Conductor and BrightEdge pricing

seoClarity pricing is the most open of the three. Its Research & Content package starts at $2,500 a month, Technical SEO at $3,200 and Enterprise at $4,500, while the Rankings package is priced by the number of keyword queries, from 2,000. Every package ends in a custom quote based on the domains and keywords you track, and the page notes that its packages and prices are representative as of October 2022 and subject to change. The packages include a dedicated client success manager, onboarding and training.

Conductor pricing is not published. Its pricing page lists three plans, Essentials, Growth and Enterprise, with usage-based pricing it describes as built around the value you get rather than seats. Essentials can be tried for free, Growth goes through a demo and Enterprise through sales. The plans are described by their limits instead, for example 500, 5,000 and 60,000 or more tracked keywords.

BrightEdge pricing is not published either. Its pricing address leads to a demo request form, so the only way to a number is a call with its sales team. BrightEdge says it serves more than 1,700 enterprise brands.

These platforms are built for large in-house teams with many domains, developers and analysts to act on the data. A small or mid-sized business rarely needs them, and where a vendor prints no price, any number you see elsewhere is an estimate, not theirs.

Wix

Wix SEO cost: what SEO on a Wix site really costs

Wix does not sell SEO as a separate product. Its built-in SEO features come with every plan, the free one included, so the Wix SEO price is really the price of the plan, the domain and any apps you add.

The plan is free with a wixsite.com address, or Light at $17, Core at $29, Business at $39 and Business Elite at $159 a month on a yearly subscription paid up front, according to Wix's own pricing guide. Its plans page shows prices by location. Paid plans include a free domain for the first year, and a .com then renews at $13.35 a year. Apps in the Wix App Market are free or cost about $3 to $20 or more a month each.

The cost Wix does not list is the work. Wix gives you the fields, and someone still has to research keywords, write pages and posts and earn links. That is what our Wix SEO services do: we write and publish 30 articles a month on your Wix site and find what needs fixing every week. On WordPress, Shopify and custom sites connected through our receiver we write the fixes on your site ourselves. On other platforms you get every fix ready to paste, with the exact steps.

WebFX

WebFX SEO pricing: what an agency charges

WebFX is a digital marketing agency, not software, so its price buys people doing the work. It publishes five SEO plans: Silver at $2,900 a month, Silver Plus at $4,200, Gold at $6,150, Platinum at $7,400 and Diamond at $9,200, each with a 6-month commitment. The plans differ in how many phrases and AI prompts are targeted, how many pages are optimized at the start, and how many content and link assets are funded each month, from 2 to 8, which WebFX values at $750 each.

WebFX lists copywriting and implementation of on-page work, support from design and conversion teams, and revenue reporting. For a business that wants a full agency team and has that budget, that is what the price pays for. To see how WebFX's numbers sit against the wider market, read our guide to SEO pricing.

Hike SEO

Hike SEO pricing: AI-run SEO for small businesses

Hike SEO sells Kit, an AI it describes as doing the SEO for you: strategy, website optimizations, technical improvements, monthly blog content, directory listings and Google Business management, with a dedicated digital expert. Single Site is $149 a month, or $89 a month billed annually ($1,068 up front). Multi-site, for up to 3 websites with white-label features for agencies, is $299 a month or $179 a month annually. There is no free trial, and every plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee and no long-term contract.

Hike applies its changes through a script on your site, and its FAQ says the improvements stay as long as that script stays. Its pricing page lists monthly blog content without saying how many articles, so ask before you compare. Two items on Hike's list are not in our plan: we do not manage your Google Business Profile (we read it in your dashboard), and directory listings are a paid add-on with us, Local Citations at $144 to $960, paid once.

AI SEO software

AI SEO software pricing: Surfer and the AI features in the suites

AI SEO software is the newest group: tools that draft and optimize content with AI and track how assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini mention a brand. Surfer is a well-known example. Billed yearly, its Discovery plan is $49 a month, Standard $99, Pro $182 and Peace of Mind $299, with an AI Search Analytics plan at $82 for visibility tracking only and Enterprise on request. A yearly plan is charged for the whole year at purchase.

The big suites have added the same features. Semrush's Starter plan tracks 50 AI prompts daily, Moz Pro tracks 150 to 600 prompts across GPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, and Ahrefs includes 150 to 600 AI prompt checks in its plans.

AI writing tools make the writing faster. They do not choose what to write, publish it, fix your site or earn links. Our AI visibility tracking follows 70 prompts every week across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, and the same plan writes and publishes the articles.

Read the small print

Hidden costs and limits that raise the SEO tool cost

The price on the plan card is rarely the whole bill. These are the extra costs and caps we found on the vendors' own pages:

  • Extra users. Most plans include one to three users. Moz charges $49 a month per extra seat, Ahrefs $40 to $80 per user depending on the plan, and Semrush from $45 a month. SEOmonitor includes unlimited users.
  • A year paid up front. The lower monthly figures for Moz, Semrush, Surfer and Wix are for a yearly plan paid in advance.
  • First-year prices. AIOSEO's prices are introductory, and renewals are at full price, about double.
  • One site per license. Yoast SEO Premium covers one site, so several sites mean several subscriptions.
  • Keyword and report caps. Tracked keywords, reports a day and crawled pages are the real limits. Moz sells 200 more tracked keywords for $20 a month, and Ubersuggest's add-ons are $5 a month each.
  • Usage billed later and minimum terms. Ahrefs' prompt packages bill overage at the end of the month. Ahrefs Enterprise needs a yearly commitment, and WebFX's plans a 6-month one.
  • Separate products. Local listings are a separate purchase at Moz (Moz Local). On Wix, the domain renews after the free first year and apps can add a monthly fee.
  • Your own time. The largest cost of any tool is the hours it takes to use, and no pricing page lists it.

The work

What you still do yourself with SEO software

Every tool above, apart from the services, sells access. This is the work the data points to, and it stays on your desk:

  1. 1

    Pick the keywords

A tool gives you thousands of keyword ideas. Choosing the ones your buyers type and you can realistically rank for is a judgment you make again every month.

  2. 2

    Write the pages

New pages that answer what buyers search are how most sites grow in search. A well-researched article takes hours, and a growing site needs several a week.

  3. 3

    Publish and format them

Titles, headings, images, internal links and markup, page by page, in your site's editor.

  4. 4

    Fix the site

An audit lists broken links, missing tags and duplicate pages. Somebody has to fix each one and check that it stays fixed.

  5. 5

    Earn the links

Backlink data shows who links to your competitors. Getting those sites to link to you is outreach: emails, follow-ups and content worth citing.

  6. 6

    Read the reports and act

Rank changes, traffic drops and AI mentions help only if someone reads them every week and does something about them.

Compare it with other SEO packages before you decide.

When SEO software is the better buy

If you have an SEO specialist, or you enjoy doing the work yourself, a suite like Semrush, Ahrefs or Moz Pro is the right purchase. Their keyword, backlink and ranking databases are built to be queried all day, and we are not a replacement for the tool an in-house SEO team lives in. You can also use both: a suite for your own research, and us for the monthly work.

We also do not do everything an agency does. We do not build or redesign websites, we do not manage your Google Business Profile or reviews, we run no paid ads, and nobody, including us, can promise a position on Google. What we do is the monthly work of SEO, done for you and visible in your dashboard.
