How patients search

How patients find clinics and healthcare providers on Google and in AI

Patients look for care in two ways. Some already know what they need and search for a provider: “physical therapist near me”, “urgent care open now” or “dermatologist accepting new patients”. Others start with a question about their own body, such as “why does my knee hurt on the stairs” or “is a sinus infection contagious”. Both searches can end with a booked visit, and they reach a practice through different doors.

Google answers the provider searches with a map pack of nearby practices and the practices' own service pages. It answers the questions with articles from hospitals, health publishers and practices, and more and more often with an AI Overview on top. AI assistants such as ChatGPT answer both kinds, and sometimes name a provider.

The map pack leans on your Google Business Profile, your reviews and where the patient is. The articles, the service pages and much of what AI answers quote come from websites. Medical SEO services work on that website half, and that half is what we do. Patients do not book through us: once they reach your site, your phone, your form or your scheduler takes over.

This page is for clinics, medical practices, physical therapists, chiropractors, mental health therapists, med spas and specialists. Dental practices have a page of their own about our dental SEO services.

What's included

What our healthcare SEO services include

The SEO work a practice needs, done for you every day, with no marketer to hire and no tool to learn.

Research on what patients search

The conditions, treatments and provider searches in your market, from “near me” searches to the questions patients ask before a visit, and the keywords other practices rank for that you do not. A town gets an article only when your practice serves it.

30 articles a month

One a day, in words a patient understands, under the health rules below, with images, markup and links to your own service pages. Publish them live, or receive drafts your team reads first.

Your site, fixed

Missing titles and descriptions written, broken addresses redirected, a sitemap switched on and business markup with your practice's name, address, phone and license number from your profile. You approve each batch and can undo it. On WordPress, Shopify and custom sites connected through our receiver we write the fixes on your site ourselves. On other platforms you get every fix ready to paste, with the exact steps.

Links from real businesses

90 credits a month in our backlink exchange. Partners in your own field come first, and a competitor you track is never one of them. How we keep it clean: backlink safety.

AI answers tracked

70 questions patients ask, checked every week in the AI assistants, with the providers they name instead of you and the pages they cite.

A person on your account

Priority 24/7 support and a dedicated account manager for your practice. Every request you send gets a ticket number and an answer from our team.

Health topics

Medical SEO services written under strict health rules

A health page can change what a reader does about their body, so Google holds such pages to a higher standard. Once your business profile names a health field, such as healthcare, medical, a clinic or therapy, every article we write for you follows our stricter health rules, not only the articles about conditions and treatments:

  • Facts are stated carefully and credited to the kind of authority behind them, such as a medical body, a regulator or published research. We never invent a study, a statistic, a percentage or a citation.
  • Articles give general guidance, with words like “for most people” where the answer depends on the reader. Never a diagnosis, a dosage or a treatment plan for one person.
  • Where a reader could act on what they read, one short note tells them to see a qualified professional about their own case. It appears once, not in every section.
  • Medicines get their own rules. A dose, a strength or an age limit appears only as your own page or the package leaflet states it, and otherwise the article says the leaflet, a pharmacist or a doctor sets it. Articles never say a medicine cures, never rank one medicine above another and never suggest stopping, switching or combining medicines.
  • Our writer is barred from some claims, and every finished article is checked for them and rewritten once if one slips through: “painless”, “risk-free”, “100% safe”, “no side effects”, “hospital-grade” or “medical-grade”. Others, such as “clinically proven”, “recommended by doctors”, “results in 7 days” or “covered by insurance”, appear only when your own business facts state them.
  • Sources an article cites come from a list checked for your project: government and regulator pages, published research and professional bodies. Each source is opened before it is kept and checked again every month, and the writer is told to link at most three of them.
  • The writer prefers your practice's own experience to generic claims, and says plainly where a question is still debated instead of sounding more certain than the evidence.

Who checks the articles

No doctor reviews our articles: what we do instead

Many medical sites show a clinician's name on each page and a line saying it was medically reviewed. We do not offer that. No doctor, nurse or therapist reads our articles before they go live, and we do not put a specialist's name on them. Google holds medical pages to a strict standard of expertise and trust, so you should know this before you buy.

What we do instead starts with the rules above, applied to every article. The Facts about your business card holds what we may say about your practice, read from your site first, and your word always beats the site. Your Global Article Instructions go into every article: conditions you do not treat, services to leave out, words your practice never uses. Articles are signed by your practice as a company unless you add a real author of your own. We do not invent an author persona.

If your practice needs every article checked by a clinician, choose drafts. Each article of your plan then arrives on your site unpublished, and one of your clinicians reads it, corrects it and publishes it. You can also switch off automatic publishing and edit any article in your dashboard, before or after it goes live. When a clinician who reviews the drafts agrees to be named, you can add them as the author in your article settings.

A real month holds 30 articles. Each one targets one search with proven demand and links to the right service page of yours. If one of your pages already sits in Google's top 10 for a search, we pick another topic instead of competing with your own page.

Local SEO

Local SEO for clinics and healthcare providers

For a clinic, local search has two owners. Your Google Business Profile is yours: categories, hours, photos, reviews and address. Connect it, and your dashboard shows the profile with its views, calls, direction requests and website clicks, and every review. To answer a review, press Draft a reply, change the draft as you like and publish it on Google yourself, so every word of a reply is your team's call. We do not edit the profile, post on it or answer reviews for you, and nobody can promise a place in Google's map pack.

Your website is ours to work on. We research the local searches patients make, write articles that answer them and add business markup with your practice's real details. When your field reads as a clinic, a hospital or a medical practice, that markup names you as a medical organization, so Google can tell what kind of business you are. More on the split in our local SEO services.

On WordPress with our plugin, or on Shopify, the system can also turn a planned article into a new service page when patients search for a service, such as “sports physical therapy in your town”, that no page of yours answers. These pages come out of your monthly articles, at most four in any 30 days, and, when your facts hold an address with its town, carry local business markup built only from your business facts: name, address, phone, hours and service area. On other platforms you get articles only.

A clinic group with several locations is where our town rule helps most. An article about one town is planned only when your facts hold three local facts there, such as the street address of that location, its opening hours and a proof that names the town. A location you list with its address and hours already brings two of the three. Such an article also needs a search naming the town with at least 10 searches a month, there are at most two in any 30 days, and we never invent a location. We do not build a page for every office.

The Local Citations add-on opens once your plan is paid: your practice listed in 15, 30, 50 or 100 directories for $144 to $960, paid once, within 2 to 6 weeks, with a report of every live listing.

AI assistants

How clinics and healthcare providers get recommended by AI assistants

People now ask ChatGPT whether a symptom needs a doctor, or which kind of specialist treats it, before they search for a practice. For health questions the answers lean on pages that rank and on sources the assistants trust. A page with credited facts and no overblown claims is the kind an assistant can quote safely, which is one more reason the rules above matter.

So every article is written for those answers too: each section opens with a direct answer, the FAQs hold the questions Google really shows, and your site gets an llms.txt summary for AI assistants. Then we measure. Every week we ask 70 questions patients ask in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, and show which answers name your practice, which providers they name instead and which pages they cite. More on AI visibility tracking.

Who it's for

Who our healthcare SEO company fits best

Think of us as a healthcare SEO company that does the work itself, for one flat price. We fit best when:

  • Patients search for your services and conditions, but your site rarely shows up
  • Nobody at the practice has time to write about health topics every week
  • A clinician on your team can read drafts before they go live
  • You want articles that make no promises and invent no statistics
  • You run several locations and want local searches covered honestly
  • Your site runs on WordPress, Wix, Webflow or another platform we publish to
  • Your group runs several sites, and every site costs 10% less once you have two

What we do not do for healthcare providers

No doctor or other clinician reviews our articles, and they carry no specialist's byline. Google judges medical pages strictly, and our health rules are writing rules, not a medical review. If your practice needs every article signed off by a clinician, choose drafts and have one of your clinicians read and approve each one before it goes live. Drafts cover the articles of your plan. If your site joins our backlink exchange, the posts it hosts for other members go live on their own, under the exchange's switch.

We do not check your site against patient privacy law, medical advertising rules or the requirements of any board or regulator. We do not manage your Google Business Profile, answer reviews for you or book patients, and we cannot put a practice into Google's map pack. We do not build websites, run ads or promise rankings or new patients.

Questions

Healthcare SEO: frequently asked questions

What does healthcare SEO cost per month?

Most often $500 to $1,000 a month at an agency, according to surveys of SEO providers, with agencies averaging about $3,200. With SeoVision it is $149 a month per site, and research, 30 articles a month, site fixes, backlinks and AI answer tracking are all part of it.

How long until healthcare SEO shows results?

Usually months, not weeks. Your first articles go live and are checked for indexing in the first weeks, and impressions on specific conditions and services tend to follow over the next months. A broad search like “doctor” in a large city takes much longer, and nobody can promise a position by a date.

What is included in healthcare SEO?

With us: research on what patients search, 30 articles a month under strict health rules, site fixes you approve, backlinks, weekly AI answer tracking, up to 5 full audits a month and a dedicated account manager.

Can AI tools replace healthcare SEO?

Not on their own. An AI tool can draft text, but a health article also needs the right search, strict health rules, your practice's real facts, a check that no page of yours already ranks, publishing and links. We use AI for the writing and run every other step around it, and your clinicians can still review the drafts.

How do I choose a provider for healthcare SEO?

Ask who writes the articles and who checks them, whether medical claims follow written rules, whether you can review drafts, where links come from, whether there is a contract and who handles your Google Business Profile. A provider that guarantees rankings or a number of new patients is guessing.

Will healthcare SEO get me into ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?

Nobody can promise it, because each assistant picks its own sources. We do the work those answers lean on, careful pages that rank and are easy to quote, and every week we show which questions name your practice and which providers are named instead.

Does a doctor review your medical articles?

No. No doctor or other clinician reviews our articles. Every article follows strict health rules, and you can choose drafts so one of your clinicians reads and approves each one before it goes live.

Can our clinicians be named as authors?

Yes. Articles are signed by your practice as a company unless you add a real author in your article settings. Add a clinician only if they read and approve the articles, because we do not check anyone's credentials.

Let us handle your clinic's SEO, and keep your team's time for patients.
