How patients search

What SEO for dentists is, and how patients find a practice

SEO for dentists is the work that makes a practice's website show up when people nearby search for dental care. Patients find a practice in three places. The first is the map pack, the few practices Google shows on a map for searches like “dentist near me” or “emergency dentist”. The second is the regular results below it, where service pages and articles answer searches like “how much does a dental implant cost” or “why does my tooth hurt with cold drinks”. The third is AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews, which answer the question and sometimes name a practice.

The map pack leans mostly on your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how close the patient is. The regular results and the AI answers lean on your website: pages that answer what patients search, written carefully, that Google can read and other sites link to. That website part is what our dental SEO services do.

Patients do not book through us. We bring searchers to your own site, where your phone number, your booking form or your online scheduler takes over.

What's included

What our SEO services for dentists include

Everything a practice needs from SEO, done for you, without hiring anyone or learning a tool.

Research on what patients search

The treatments, symptoms and questions people search in your market, local words like “near me” included, and the keywords other practices rank for that you do not. We never write about a town you do not serve.

30 articles a month

One a day, written in plain words for patients, with images, markup and links to your own service pages. Publish live, or receive drafts and read each one first.

Your site, fixed

Empty titles and descriptions filled, broken addresses redirected, your sitemap switched on and business markup that names your practice as a dentist, from the details in your profile. You approve each batch and can undo it. On WordPress, Shopify and custom sites connected through our receiver we write the fixes on your site ourselves. On other platforms you get every fix ready to paste, with the exact steps.

Links from real businesses

90 credits a month in our backlink exchange, matched to your field first and never with a competitor you track. See backlink safety.

AI answers tracked

70 questions patients ask, checked every week in the AI assistants, with the practices named instead of you and the pages the answers cite.

A person to ask

A dedicated account manager for your practice and priority 24/7 support. Every request gets a ticket number and a reply from our team.

Health topics

Dental content written with care

Dental care is a health topic, and Google holds health pages to a higher standard. Because your practice works in a health field, every article we write for you follows our stricter health rules, not only the articles about treatments.

You stay in charge of the facts. The Facts about your business card in your dashboard holds what we may say about your practice, read from your site first, and your word always beats the site. An article that needs a fact we do not have yet, such as your hours, gives its day to another topic first. You can also give the writer standing instructions, such as treatments to leave out or claims never to make, and they apply to every article. The rules every article follows:

  • Facts are stated carefully and credited to the kind of source they come from, such as a dental association or published research. We never invent a study, a statistic or a percentage.
  • When an article links to an outside source, the source comes from a list checked for your project, such as government pages, professional bodies and published research. Each one is opened first to make sure it works, and an article links at most three.
  • Articles give general guidance, never a diagnosis or a treatment plan for one person.
  • Where a reader could act on the advice, one short note tells them to see a dentist about their own case.
  • Some claims never appear: “painless”, “100% safe” or “risk-free”, “covered by insurance” unless your own facts say so, and “the best dentist” or “#1” unless a named source says it.

A real month holds 30 articles. Each one targets one search with proven demand, links to the right service page of yours and is written under the health rules above. Before writing, we check whether one of your pages already ranks in the top 10 for that search, and pick another topic if it does.

Local SEO

Local SEO for dental practices

Local SEO for a practice has two halves. The first is your Google Business Profile: categories, hours, photos, reviews and address. That half stays yours. Connect it, and your dashboard shows your profile, its views, calls, direction requests and website clicks, and your reviews. When you want to answer a review, you can press Draft a reply, edit the draft and publish it on Google yourself. We do not answer reviews for you, edit your profile or post on it, and we cannot put a practice into Google's map pack.

The second half is your website, and that is ours. We research the local searches patients make, write articles that answer them and add business markup with your practice's name, address and phone from your profile. More on that split in our local SEO services.

On WordPress with our plugin, or on Shopify, the system can also turn a planned article into a new service page, for a buying search like “teeth whitening in your town” that no page of yours answers yet. These pages count inside your monthly articles, at most four in any 30 days, and carry local business markup built only from your business facts: your name, address, phone, hours and service area. We never guess an address or invent a branch. On other platforms, you get articles only.

A practice with offices in several towns can also get an article about a town, but only when your facts hold three local facts there, such as a street address in that town, that office's hours and a proof that names the town, such as a review. We do not build location pages as such.

For more local signals, the Local Citations add-on opens once your plan is paid. It lists your practice in 15 to 100 directories for $144 to $960, paid once, with a report of every live listing.

AI assistants

How dental practices get recommended by AI assistants

When someone asks ChatGPT for a good family dentist nearby, or whether a cracked tooth needs a crown, the answer leans on pages that rank in search and on the sources the assistants trust. For health questions, careful and well-sourced pages are the ones an assistant can quote safely, which is one more reason the rules above matter.

So we write with AI answers in mind: every section opens with a direct answer, the FAQs hold the questions Google really shows, and your site gets an llms.txt summary for AI assistants. Then we measure it. Every week we ask 70 questions patients ask in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, and show which answers name your practice, which practices are named instead and which pages the answers cite. More on AI visibility tracking.

Who it's for

Who our dental SEO company fits best

Think of us as a dental SEO agency without the agency invoice. We fit best when:

  • Patients search for your treatments, but your site rarely shows up
  • Nobody at the practice has time to write about treatments every week
  • You have no dental SEO expert on staff and do not want to hire one
  • You want articles written carefully, without invented statistics or promises
  • Your site runs on WordPress, Wix, Webflow or another platform we publish to
  • You run several practices with their own sites, and want 10% off every site once you have two
  • You want to see the work as it happens, not wait for a monthly report

Compare

Best dental SEO companies: your options compared

There is no best dental SEO company for every practice. It depends on your budget and how much you want done for you. A dental SEO consultant advises, and your team does the work. A dental marketing agency often bundles ads, websites and social media. We do the SEO work itself, for a flat price.

What we do not do for dental practices

We do not manage your Google Business Profile, answer your reviews for you or change your address, and we cannot put a practice into Google's map pack. Patients do not book through us: we bring searchers to your site, and your phone, form or scheduler does the rest.

Our health rules are writing rules, not a compliance review. We do not check your site against patient privacy law, advertising rules or any regulator's requirements, so read what we publish, or choose drafts and approve each article yourself. Drafts cover the articles of your plan. If your site takes part in our backlink exchange, the posts it hosts for other members go live on their own, under the exchange's own switch. We do not build websites, run ads or promise rankings or new patients.

Questions

Dental SEO: frequently asked questions

What does dental SEO cost per month?

Surveys of SEO agencies put the most common retainer at $500 to $1,000 a month, with agencies averaging about $3,200. SeoVision costs $149 a month per site, with research, 30 articles, site fixes, backlinks and AI tracking included.

How long until dental SEO shows results?

Your first articles go live and are checked for indexing in the first weeks. Impressions on specific treatment and symptom searches usually come over the next months, and competitive searches like “dentist” in a big city take longer. Nobody can promise a position by a date.

What is included in dental SEO?

With us: research on what patients search, 30 articles a month written under strict health rules, technical fixes you approve, backlinks, AI answer tracking, up to 5 full audits a month and a dedicated account manager.

Can AI tools replace dental SEO?

They can write a draft, but a dental article needs more than words: the right search, careful health rules, your practice's real facts, publishing, an indexing check and links. We use AI for the writing and run every one of those steps around it.

How do I choose a provider for dental SEO?

Ask what ships every month, who writes it and how health claims are checked, where the links come from, whether there is a contract and who does the Google Business Profile work. A good provider answers all of it plainly.

Will dental SEO get me into ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?

Nobody can promise it, because the assistants choose their own sources. We do the work those answers lean on: careful pages that rank and are easy to quote. Every week we show which questions name your practice.

Do you manage our Google Business Profile and reviews?

No. Connect your profile and we show its views, calls, direction requests, website clicks and reviews in your dashboard. You can draft a reply to a review there and publish it yourself, but the profile stays yours to edit.

Let us do your practice's SEO while you look after your patients.
