The Best SEO Agencies and Companies in 2026, Compared Honestly
There is no single best SEO agency for everyone, and the best SEO agencies for a local shop and for an enterprise are rarely the same. The right one depends on your budget, your site and how much of the work you want done for you. We compared ten well-known SEO companies and our own service on what each one publishes on its own website: price, contract terms, who it serves and what it says about AI search. Seven of the ten publish a price, a range or a minimum, starting from an estimate of $500 a month for a small business, and three quote only on request. SeoVision is our own service, it is marked as ours, and its plan is $149 a month per site.

Method
How we compared the best SEO companies
Search for the top 10 SEO firms or the top ranked SEO companies and you get lists that rarely say how they were made. Many SEO company rankings sort agencies by review stars and awards, which a reader cannot check. We did it the other way around and kept to facts each company states about itself.
We picked ten SEO companies that serve US businesses and that ranking lists for this search often name, choosing a mix of sizes and specialties: agencies for small businesses, online stores, enterprises, B2B firms and content-led brands. Then we read each company's own website and compared them on five things:
- Published price. A price, a range or a minimum, quoted as the company writes it. If a company publishes none, we say so. We never present a third-party estimate as a company's price.
- Contract terms. Month-to-month, a minimum term or a commitment, only as the company states it.
- Who it serves. The business sizes and industries the company names on its own pages.
- Scope. The SEO work it lists: content, technical SEO, links, local search and reporting.
- AI search. Whether it says it works on visibility in ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and other assistants, and how it tracks that.
- Left out on purpose: review-site ratings, award counts and claims of being number one. Every company here has some, and none of them can be checked from the outside.

What this comparison is, and what it is not
This is a comparison of what reputable SEO companies publish, not a verdict on their results. We did not hire them, test their work or read their contracts, so a published price is a starting point and not your quote. The list is in alphabetical order. It is not a ranking, and nobody is crowned the leading SEO company, because no independent source measures that.
Each company gets the strength its own site shows and a fair minus taken from the same facts: no published price, a minimum budget, a long commitment, an enterprise focus or no AI search work stated. And one disclosure that matters: SeoVision is our own service. It sits in the table and in one labelled entry, and you should weigh that entry accordingly.

Small business and local
Best SEO companies for small business, local and multi-location
Thrive Internet Marketing Agency. A full-service agency established in 2005 that says it has more than 160 employees across 34 states and 10 countries. Its SEO covers local, technical and on-page work, copywriting, link building, ecommerce SEO and AI SEO, and it runs its own local marketing software, Thrive Local. Its pricing page gives monthly estimates by business size, starting at $500 a month for a small business, and states that it offers month-to-month contracts. The fair minus: the $500 figure is an estimate and the real price comes in a proposal. Its own pricing table also recommends retainers of 6 to 12 months or more, even though it offers month-to-month contracts. Its AI SEO plans are listed without prices.
1SEO Digital Agency. An agency based in Bristol, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, which its site says is now part of Scorpion. It sells SEO next to pay-per-click, Google Local Service Ads, social media, web design, email and video, names home services, health and wellness and professional services among its industries, and runs a pay-per-lead program. It says it has worked for over 1,000 companies. The fair minus: no published prices, and its SEO services page says nothing about AI search. Contracts vary by business, with no term stated.
Ignite Visibility. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in San Diego, it serves enterprise, multi-location, franchise, ecommerce and B2B brands, and lists AI search visibility among its SEO services, including a check of how well AI bots can crawl your site. Its own FAQ puts its custom SEO programs at typically $2,000 to $10,000+ a month, says no long-term contract is required, and says you keep your accounts, website, content and data if the engagement ends. The fair minus: every engagement is custom-scoped, so you only learn your price from a proposal, and SEO is one of many channels it sells.
Ecommerce and published prices
Best SEO firms for ecommerce and published plan prices
OuterBox. Founded in 2004, with offices in Akron, Houston and Tuscaloosa, OuterBox calls itself an ecommerce agency and a lead generation agency. It is one of two companies here with full package prices on the page: Essentials at $2,000 a month for one to three local markets, Pro at $3,000 a month for regional or national reach, and Enterprise from $7,000 a month. All are billed month-to-month, and the packages page says the work is done by 90+ USA-based, in-house SEO experts. The fair minus: the $2,000 Essentials package lists no AI search work. AI and LLM visibility starts in Pro, and optimization for named assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot is listed only in Enterprise, from $7,000 a month.
WebFX. A large full-service agency that says it has 30 years of results and measures revenue through its own platform, RevenueCloudFX. It publishes five SEO plans on its pricing page, from $2,900 to $9,200 a month, and every plan lists targeting of 100 to 250 prompts for AI answers next to on-page, technical and schema work. Separate AI SEO plans start at $3,000 a month. The fair minus: the published prices come with a 6-month commitment, and content and links are bought through a set number of flexible assets each month, from 2 to 8 depending on the plan.
SeoProfy. An SEO company whose services are all search: managed SEO, technical SEO, link building, local and international SEO, and AI visibility audits that track how often a brand is mentioned in large language models. It names ecommerce, SaaS, legal, real estate, insurance and fintech among its niches, and runs its own SEO platform, SearchAnalytics. Its site says its SEO services start from $1,600 a month. The fair minus: it offers no fixed plans, so beyond that starting figure the price depends on a custom plan, and no contract term is stated.
Enterprise, B2B and content
Top SEO firms for enterprise, B2B and content-led SEO
Victorious. An agency that runs SEO with what it calls singular focus, rather than spreading across many marketing channels, and has worked on enterprise and technical SEO since 2013. Its services are SEO, answer engine optimization for AI answers, content and technical SEO, plus link building, site migrations and local SEO. Its own pricing article says long-term SEO with Victorious ranges from $5,000 to $20,000 a month, and its home page recommends budgeting at least $6,000 a month and committing to a 12-month campaign to start. The fair minus: that budget and a 12-month start are a large commitment for a small business.
Siege Media. A content marketing agency that now calls itself a GEO agency, built to make brands the answer in search, and says it works from prompt and citation data to find gaps in AI answers. It spends almost half of its content creation time on design, and often builds interactive pieces such as quizzes, maps and calculators. It names SaaS, fintech, ecommerce, health, travel, education, real estate and cybersecurity among its industries. The fair minus: its content marketing minimum is $8,000 a month, and it asks for a 12-month contract, though every contract includes a 30-day out clause.
First Page Sage. An SEO and GEO agency built around lead generation. It sets explicit lead projections for a campaign and says it reports on the numbers a sales team cares about, such as booked calls, signed contracts and completed purchases, rather than traffic alone. The first month goes to strategy and technical SEO, full content production starts in month two, and everything runs month-to-month. It names B2B SaaS, healthcare, fintech, manufacturing, cybersecurity, legal, real estate and ecommerce among its industries. The fair minus: no published prices, and its own page says it is not a fit when the budget for a serious program is not there this year.
NP Digital. A global agency co-founded in 2017 by Neil Patel, with teams across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. It sells GEO and AEO, SEO, paid media, creative, content, social media, app store optimization and analytics, and its group also runs the Ubersuggest and AnswerThePublic tools. Its case studies name large brands such as Adobe and SoFi. The fair minus: no prices or contract terms on the pages we read, and SEO is one channel among many in a very large agency.
Our own service
SeoVision, our own service, so weigh this entry accordingly
We built SeoVision, so read this entry as our description of our own product, not as an outside review. It is on the list because a buyer comparing SEO companies should see every kind of option, including a done-for-you service with its price on the page.
What it is. One plan at $149 a month per site, with no contract, and you can cancel any time in Plan & Billing. Every month we research your keywords and competitors, write and publish 30 articles on your site, fix technical problems after your OK, or hand you each fix ready to paste on builders we cannot write to, earn backlinks from real business sites through our exchange, run up to 5 full audits and track your brand in AI answers with 70 prompts every week (see AI visibility tracking). A dedicated account manager and priority 24/7 support come with the plan, every request gets a ticket number, and our team checks every paying project each morning.
Best for: small and midsize sites that want the work done every day, at a price they can see before they buy.
The fair minus: we are a remote team, so there are no meetings in person, and we do not build or redesign websites. We do not guarantee rankings. And we are a done-for-you system, with software doing the daily work and our team on top of it, not a bespoke strategy team that designs a custom program around you. If you want a strategist in the room every month, several companies above fit better.
AI search
Which top SEO agencies work on AI search
Your buyers now ask ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews before they click a link, so we checked what each company says about AI search. Saying it is not the same as measuring it, so ask each one which assistants it tracks, how many prompts and how often.
| Company | What its own site says about AI search |
|---|---|
| 1SEO Digital Agency | Nothing on its SEO services page when we checked |
| First Page Sage | GEO services to appear in AI Overviews and be recommended by ChatGPT and other AI tools |
| Ignite Visibility | AI search visibility in its SEO services, with a check of how AI bots crawl your site |
| NP Digital | GEO and AEO as a service, to be found from Google to ChatGPT |
| OuterBox | AI and LLM visibility work from its Pro package, and optimization for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Google's AI in Enterprise |
| SeoProfy | AI visibility audits that track brand mentions across large language models |
| Siege Media | Calls itself a GEO agency and works from prompt and citation data |
| Thrive Internet Marketing Agency | AI SEO plans without published prices, and its own ThriveAI tools |
| Victorious | Answer engine optimization for AI Overviews and answer engines such as ChatGPT |
| WebFX | 100 to 250 prompts targeted in every SEO plan, and AI SEO plans that track prompts across 10 AI answer engines |
| SeoVision (our own service) | 70 prompts tracked every week in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode |
From each company's own website, November 1, 2026.
Best for
Which SEO company fits your need
The best SEO services company for one business is the wrong one for another. Start from what you need and the terms you can accept, then look at these first.

| Many locations or franchises | Ignite Visibility | Multi-location and franchise brands named first, no long-term contract |
| An online store | OuterBox, SeoProfy, WebFX | OuterBox calls itself an ecommerce agency, SeoProfy names ecommerce as a niche, WebFX plans include product and category page content |
| Enterprise or technical SEO | Victorious, NP Digital | Victorious describes its work as SEO with a single focus, NP Digital runs teams for large brands in many countries |
| Content as the main lever | Siege Media | Design-heavy content and interactive pieces, with a minimum of $8,000 a month |
| Lead generation measured in calls and deals | First Page Sage | Lead projections, reporting on booked calls and signed contracts, month-to-month |
| A price before you talk to sales | WebFX, OuterBox | Both publish plan prices with what each plan includes |
| International SEO | SeoProfy, NP Digital | SeoProfy sells international and multilingual SEO, NP Digital has teams in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America |
Our own service is left out of this table on purpose. Its entry, with its minus, is above.
What you buy
What the best SEO services include
SEO, search engine optimization, is the work of getting a site found in unpaid search results, and now in AI answers too. Whatever you pay, a full service covers the same jobs, and comparing companies on these jobs tells you more than any list of top SEO services:
- Research. The searches your buyers type, the competitors who rank for them and the pages you are missing.
- Content. New pages and articles that answer those searches, published on a steady schedule.
- Technical SEO. A site Google can crawl and read: titles, sitemaps, redirects, schema markup.
- Links. Mentions and links from relevant sites with real readers, never bulk packages.
- Local search, where you serve a town or a region: listings and pages for the places you really work.
- Reporting from your own data, such as Search Console, so you can see the work and what changed.
- AI search, a newer job: how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers talk about you, measured on a schedule.
Timeline
How long it takes to see results from SEO
Months, not weeks, whichever company you choose. Google needs time to crawl new pages, understand them and trust a site on competitive searches. Two companies here build that into their terms: First Page Sage starts full content production in month two, and Victorious plans its work on a 12-month cycle.
The first signs usually appear in Search Console as impressions on long, specific searches, then as queries climbing toward page one. Broad, competitive searches come last. Be careful with any company that promises page one by a date, even the best SEO company for Google you can find, because nobody outside Google controls its rankings. A free SEO audit shows where your site stands today, so you can judge any provider's plan against real numbers.
Choosing
How to choose an SEO company: seven practical checks
Whether you are comparing the top SEO consulting firms or a single freelancer, the same checks apply. Ask every company the same questions, in writing.
- 1
Know what you need first
Local leads, store sales, B2B pipeline or AI answers. A company built for an enterprise migration can be the wrong fit for a ten-page local site, and the reverse. Our guide to what an SEO agency does each month helps you write the list.
- 2
Get the price and what it buys
The monthly fee, any setup fee and a list of what ships each month: articles, fixes, links, reports. Then compare it with the survey ranges in our SEO pricing guide.
- 3
Read the terms
Month-to-month, a 6-month commitment and a 12-month contract are all on this list. Ask what leaving costs and what happens to the content you paid for.
- 4
Ask who does the work
A senior strategist, a junior team, freelancers or software with people on top. If you would rather hire one person, the best SEO consultants and freelancers are a real option, and our page on how to hire an SEO expert covers what to check.
- 5
Ask where the links come from
Links from real sites with real readers are worth having. Bulk links from networks can earn a penalty. See backlink safety for the warning signs.
- 6
Ask how AI search is tracked
Which assistants, how many prompts and how often. A company that says it does AI search should be able to show you the answers it tracks.
- 7
Be wary of guarantees and crowns
Nobody controls Google's rankings, so a guarantee of page one means guessing. And a company calling itself the number 1 SEO company or a top rated SEO agency is making its own claim. Ask for the source.
Our plan

What this guide cannot tell you, and what we do not do
We compared what each company publishes. We did not hire them, test their work or see their contracts, so their results, good or bad, are not part of this page. A company's own claims about results are its own. Ask each one for its numbers and its terms in writing before you sign.
SeoVision does not manage paid ads, your Google Business Profile or your reviews, and it cannot put a business into Google's map pack. If those are what you need most, a full-service agency with local and paid media teams fits better than we do.
Questions
Best SEO companies: frequently asked questions
Who are the best SEO companies?
No independent source measures that, so any single winner is someone's opinion. The ten we compared are well-known agencies that ranking lists often name: 1SEO, First Page Sage, Ignite Visibility, NP Digital, OuterBox, SeoProfy, Siege Media, Thrive, Victorious and WebFX. The right one depends on your budget, your site and the terms you accept.
Which SEO company is best for a small business?
One with a price you can keep paying, month-to-month terms and work you can see. On their own sites, Thrive gives estimates from $500 a month for a small business and OuterBox's Essentials package is $2,000 a month, both month-to-month. Our own plan is $149 a month per site, with no contract.
Who is the best SEO specialist?
Nobody can honestly be named the best SEO specialist, or the world's best SEO expert, because no one measures it. Look for top SEO experts whose work you can check, with clear prices, references you can call and no ranking guarantees.
How much does an SEO agency cost?
Agencies average about $3,200 a month, and the most common retainer across providers is $501 to $1,000, according to Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers. In this guide, published figures start at an estimate of $500 a month, Siege Media's minimum is $8,000 and Victorious's range reaches $20,000.
How much should I pay for SEO services?
Pay what you can keep paying for at least six months, because SEO compounds slowly. The most common retainer is $500 to $1,000 a month, according to SE Ranking and Duda's 2025 survey of 260 agencies. Ask what ships each month for the price.
What is the difference between SEO and SEM?
SEO earns unpaid places in search results through content, technical work and links. SEM, search engine marketing, usually means paid search ads, and sometimes covers both. SEO keeps working after you stop paying, ads stop with the budget. Several companies here sell both. We do SEO only and do not manage ads.
How long does it take to see results from SEO?
Usually several months. New pages first collect impressions on long, specific searches, and broad competitive searches take longest. Be careful with anyone who promises page one by a date.
Is there a number 1 SEO company?
Not one that an independent source has measured. Many agencies call themselves number one or top rated, and those are their own claims. Compare what each one publishes instead: price, terms, scope, and how it reports results.
