SEO and PPC Services: We Do the SEO, Your Ads Team Runs PPC

SEO and PPC services cover the two ways a business shows up on Google: SEO earns the free results below the ads, and PPC, pay per click, buys the ads at the top, paid every time someone clicks. SeoVision does only the SEO half. We do not manage Google Ads or any other paid ads. Every month we research your keywords, publish 30 articles on your site, fix technical problems after your OK and earn backlinks, and we show the search data your ads team can use: the queries that bring clicks, the pages that convert and how each channel performs. It costs $149 a month per site, with no contract.

The basics

What is SEO, what is PPC, and what SEO and SEM services mean

What is SEO? Search engine optimization is the work that helps your pages rank in Google's free results: pages that answer what buyers search, a site Google can crawl and read, and links from other sites that vouch for it. Nobody pays Google for those places, and nobody can buy them.

PPC is advertising. In Google Ads you choose the searches you want to appear for, set a budget and a bid, and Google shows your ad above or below the free results with a ยซSponsoredยป label. You pay each time someone clicks. SEM, search engine marketing, is the older word for the two together, so SEO SEM services and SEO and PPC services usually mean the same bundle.

Many agencies sell both halves under one roof, which is why you see ยซSEO advertising agencyยป and ยซSEO PPC agencyยป on so many pages. The two halves need different skills and different tools. Ads need someone in the account every week, adjusting bids, budgets and ad copy. SEO needs steady work on your site. We chose to do the second one well.

What we do not do: run your ads

We do not manage Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta ads or any other paid campaign. We do not open or log into your ad accounts, set bids or budgets, write ad copy or build landing pages for ads. If you need PPC, hire a PPC specialist or an ads agency for that half.

What we do is the SEO half, every month, and we make the search data from it easy to share. Your ads team keeps the ads, and the two sides can read the same numbers.

Side by side

SEO vs PPC: what each one gives you

Neither one replaces the other. They behave differently on price, speed and what is left when you stop.

Why both

What SEO does that ads do not, and the reverse

Ads are a tap. They bring visitors the day you turn them on and stop the day you turn them off, and the price of each click is set at auction against your competitors. For a new product, a sale or a search that converts so well you want to be there today, nothing is faster.

SEO builds something you keep. An article that ranks for a question your buyers ask keeps bringing visits without a fee per click. It also reaches the people who skip ads, and the AI assistants that answer questions by quoting pages, since those answers are drawn from what ranks and what is clearly written, not from what is paid for.

The two also feed each other. Ads show within days which searches turn into customers, and that is useful for choosing what to write. Search Console shows which free searches already bring clicks, which helps an ads team decide where paying adds the most. That is why a plan with both halves often beats either alone, even when two different teams run them.

For your ads team

What we report that helps your ads team

Everything below sits in your dashboard. Invite your PPC specialist to your team as a viewer, and they read the same data.

The queries that bring clicks

With Search Console connected, clicks, impressions, positions and click rate by query and by page, synced every day. Your ads team sees which searches already bring free clicks and which do not.

Searches close to page one

Queries where your site sits on positions 4 to 20 with real impressions. One click turns each into work on your site, and your ads team can decide whether to cover them with ads in the meantime.

Sessions by channel

With Google Analytics connected, your Analytics page splits sessions by channel, so organic search and paid search sit side by side.

Key events by channel and page

The actions you mark as key events in Google Analytics, such as a form or a call button, by event name, by channel and by page. Both teams judge their work by the same events.

Enquiries from our articles

Our weekly report letter counts the key events in visits that started on one of our articles, so you can see what the SEO half brings.

Orders by channel, for stores

For a Shopify or WooCommerce store, the Orders page sorts each order by where its visit came from: organic search, AI assistants, paid ads and others, by one set of rules.

Side by side

How SEO and an ads team work side by side

Two teams, one site. This is how the work splits without either side redoing the other's.

  1. 1

    Share one keyword list

Our keyword research lists the searches your buyers use, with their monthly volume. Your ads team can start from the same list instead of building a second one.

  2. 2

Let ads test, let SEO stay

Ads find out quickly which searches turn into customers. The ones that keep converting are worth an article or a page that ranks for them over time.

  3. 3

    Keep the selling pages clear

Your ads team's landing pages stay theirs. Our articles link to the page that sells when one fits, so free visitors also reach it.

  4. 4

    Revisit the overlap

When your site ranks well for a search, your ads team decides whether paying for it still adds enough. That call is theirs, made from Search Console data you both see.

  5. 5

Judge both by the same events

Mark the actions that matter as key events in Google Analytics. Your Analytics page then shows them by channel, organic and paid alike.

The cost difference

Ad spend stops with the budget, articles stay

With PPC, the money you pay Google buys clicks for as long as you keep paying. On top of the spend, most businesses pay someone to run the account, either a person on staff or an agency fee. When the budget ends, so do the visits from ads.

With SEO, you pay for work that leaves something behind. An article we publish into your own site, on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow or a custom site, lives in your site and stays there if you stop paying us. One exception: a blog we host for you on your domain, or a Next.js blog that reads its articles from us, pauses about two months after your paid period ends, because it is served by us. The fixes already on your site stay too, and so do the links placed for you, as long as the links your site hosts for other members stay up.

That does not make SEO cheaper in every month. It is slower, and the first months mostly build. But the cost of each visit tends to fall as published pages keep working, while the cost of an ad click is set fresh at every auction.

Pricing

How much SEO and PPC services cost

An SEO and PPC bundle has three parts: the SEO work, the ad spend you pay to Google and the fee for whoever runs the ads. For SEO, the most common retainer is $500 to $1,000 a month according to SE Ranking and Duda's 2025 survey of 260 agencies, and agencies average about $3,200 a month in Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers. We sell only the SEO part, $149 a month per site, with no contract. The ad spend and the ads fee are set by your ads team. See our SEO pricing guide.

Who does the work

One SEO SEM specialist, or two teams?

An SEO SEM specialist who does both halves can work for a small budget, as long as one person has the hours. The risk is that ads always win the week: they spend money every day and need watching, so the slower SEO work slips. Many owners see their blog go quiet a few months after hiring one person for both.

Splitting the halves keeps each one moving. With us, software does the daily SEO jobs and our team watches every paying project each morning, with a dedicated account manager on your project and priority 24/7 support. Your PPC person or ads agency keeps full attention on the campaigns. More on how we run the SEO half in our managed SEO services.

Questions to ask an SEO and PPC agency

Whether you hire one SEM SEO company for both halves or two separate teams, these questions show what you are paying for.

  • How much of my monthly fee goes to SEO work, and how much to running the ads?
  • Is the ad spend billed separately from the agency fee, and do I see Google's own invoice?
  • Is the ad account in my name, and do I keep it if I leave?
  • What ships on the SEO side every month: articles, fixes, links? Can I see each one?
  • When the free result already ranks well, who decides whether we still pay for ads on that search?
  • Which key events do both halves report on, and from whose analytics?
  • What happens to the pages and the account if I cancel?
  • Do you promise rankings or a number of leads? An honest answer is no.

Timeline

When you will see results from each half

Ads can bring visits on the first day the campaign runs. SEO starts slower: in the first weeks our audit runs, the first fixes go live after your OK and the first articles are published and checked for indexing. Over the next months the articles collect impressions, usually on long, specific searches first.

Nobody can promise a position on Google, and an SEO advertising agency that does is guessing. What you can watch is the trend in your own Search Console and in the key events your Analytics page shows by channel. We also track your brand in AI answers every week across 70 prompts, a channel no ad buys. More on AI visibility tracking.

Questions

SEO and PPC services: frequently asked questions

What's the difference between SEO and paid or PPC keywords?

A PPC keyword is a search you bid on in Google Ads, and you pay each time someone clicks your ad for it. An SEO keyword is a search you earn a free place for by having the best page for it. The same search can be both, and an ads team and an SEO team often share one list.

What is PPC in Google Ads?

PPC means pay per click. In Google Ads you pick the searches you want to appear for and set a bid and a budget, Google shows your ad with a ยซSponsoredยป label, and you pay only when someone clicks it. We do not run Google Ads.

How much is PPC with a marketing agency?

You pay twice: the ad spend, which goes to Google, and the agency's fee for running the account. Fees vary by agency and budget, so ask for a written quote that lists the two separately. We do not manage ads, so we have no PPC price.

How do I do SEO for my website?

Find the searches your buyers use, give each one a page that answers it, make sure Google can crawl and read your site, fix titles, markup and broken addresses, earn links from real sites and keep publishing. You can do it yourself, or we do it for you at $149 a month per site.

What is a SEO service provider?

A company or person you pay to get your site found in search: an agency, a freelancer or a done-for-you service. Some also run ads, some do only SEO. We do only SEO, the work itself, and show every piece of it in your dashboard.

How much to hire SEO?

Agency surveys put the most common SEO retainer at $500 to $1,000 a month, and Ahrefs found agencies average about $3,200 a month. Our plan is $149 a month per site, with 30 articles, fixes, links and AI tracking included and no contract.

What are SEO service charges?

The fee for the SEO work, billed by the hour, by the project or most often as a monthly retainer. In an SEO and PPC bundle, ask for it apart from the ad spend and the ads fee, so you can see what each half costs.

Who are the best SEO companies?

No one company is best for everyone. The right one shows you what it ships every month, tells you where links come from, lets you leave without a long contract and never promises rankings. If you also need ads, check whether the same team really has the hours for both.
